- It is MPEG-I and yes it adheres to the white book format. This mainly
- describes the layout of the CD. A VideoCD consists of a data track using
- an extended ISO9660 file system followed by video tracks in CD-XA format.
- Each video track contains a MPEG-I sequence. The data track contains
- a directory and auxiliary files that help sophisticated players to
- add some functionality. Simple players can just ignore the data track

- Yes, that's CD-XA. CD-XA stores either 2048 bytes per sector plus error
- correction information (used on the data track and pretty similiar
- to standard CD-ROM sectors) or 2324 bytes per sector without the
- error correction (used on the video tracks). BTW, that's an additional
- error correction, you always have the standard error correction on
- all sectors (which is sufficient for audio and also for MPEG streams
- as this type of data is pretty tolerant to errors).
